A Journey of Senses in South Korea - Part 1: Food Culture

Oh, what a journey it was! I have visited many places around the world and few left a permanent memory and influence in my way of seeing the world.


Our recent escapade to the vibrant land of South Korea was like a symphony of flavors, a feast for the senses, and a captivating exploration of how food intertwines with life and people itself. In Korea, food isn't just sustenance; it's a journey of the soul, a celebration of harmony, and a testament to the art of patience in communion and trust.


We embarked on this adventure with no goals, just letting our preferences and curiosity take the lead. We adopted the philosophy of the yes-man, getting ready for any adventure that was proposed in front of us. We also wanted to uncover the unique and exquisite flavors that South Korea has to offer, and to experience firsthand the passionate love affair between Koreans and their food. But our adventure didn't stop at food alone; we ventured into the heart of coffee culture, visiting over 20 specialty coffee shops that left us with a newfound appreciation for the art of brewing, as well as the interesting history of Korea.



From the bustling streets of Seoul to the coastal charm of Busan and the historical depths of Gyeongju, our journey took us to every corner of this remarkable country, where every city had its own culinary tale to tell.
